Blackhorse 1 - 1 Tollington Park

Another derby for TP against the league leaders started brightly with the game plan being to dominate the game from the outset. TP did just that and gave a battling display for 90 minutes.

Blackhorse started by putting some early crosses into the box which Tony and Max dealt with. Blackhorse took the lead with a freak goal when a winger crossed the ball, Ronaldinho style, over Steve and straight into the net. TP kept battling and although Blackhorse had the possession for the rest of the half they could not break down the TP defence with Gus dropping deeper and making a five man midfield.

However, they were lucky to escape a second Blackhorse road when a winger struck just over with a free shot in the area.

The second half started and TP carried on much the same and seemed to be biding their time. Blackhorse should have been two up when their striker ran round the goalkeeper and had an empty net but amazingly missed and hit the post.

TP then grabbed an equaliser when Tony ran from defence passing the ball wide to Dwayne, whose chipped pass was flicked on from the Blackhorse left back and Calvin ran in, shimmied, and slammed the ball passed the goalkeeper sparking the celebrations.

In the dying moments, Steve was kept busy, saving a shot from outside the box and then even more impressively saving a drilled shot from 10 years.
